In this section, I present various projects that are unique, and hope to show the process by which these projects are custom made. Begining with a client's idea of what they want made, I work on the design until I come up with various concepts which I think the client might like. The client then chooses a final direction of the project. The whole process takes quite a bit of time and thought, and with each project I learn new techniques to steadily improve my woodworking skills. I hope you enjoy the gallery! click on any picture to learn more about the project.
This was a nightstand box I made for my grandmother's birthday in October 2011. I like how the lily turned out, it looks truly three dimensional at certain angles in the sunlight. When I first cut the top portion on the bandsaw I thought I had cut it too thin, but I think thats what gives it the delicate feeling. Made of Sapele wood with maple and purple heart inlay, finished with tung oil.
This box was made on the occasion of my friend's mother's birthday in October of 2011. Inside covered with red microsuade. This box challenged me because I had never done a box with a frame and panel top before, so the hinges had to be attached more carefully. Core made of walnut with maple and purpleheart roses and inlay bands, finished with tung oil.
